WARN Act requires 60 day notice required for mass layoffs

Question is anyone filing for the WARN act?

There are very few laws that protect workers in the US, the WARN act is one of them.

This requires a company to give 60 days notice before mass layoffs. I haven't heard a single employee that was giving notice

American workers are some of the most protected in the world from discrimination and abuse by employers.

Depends where you compare to. Central Africa countries and much of Asia, you are right. Europe....we have very little worker protections compared to other first world economy countries. If you have been part of actually sorting out reducing headcount in both the EU and the US, you would understand this.

For sure especially when some top brass sold millions in stock options a few months back and some left the company before all hell broke loose...

There are a number of loopholes in the WARN Act that SLB takes advantage of to avoid having to post notices. Nobody and no location is 100% safe. Every US employee should assume that they could be the next to go.

Legal has examined the proposed numbers of each mass release at each location and none of the proposed numbers qualify for protection under the WARN act. Believe me it was reviewed carefully as I am extremely familiar with the matter

So you really expect SLB keeps employees on payroll without actual work ? Isn't this against the fundamentals of capitalism?

Read the entire law. There's more than one exception in that law that SLB can claim. It s—s, but everyone that quit listening to the brass and started watching the market and business decisions has seen this coming for quite some time.
