what was bonus payout? while nice to have a higher than expected level, maybe could have saved some jobs by having lower percentage.

Chill out on the racism speak.. "Down the river" has been used to indicate supreme betrayal (origin being the slave sales referenced). "Up the river" refers to going to prison (origin referred tos sing-sing prison on the banks of the hudson river). Neither is racist. The poster mixed up the direction of the darned river. They were suggesting that the crooked audit team would be going to prison!
Louisville, KY used to be one of the largest slave-trading marketplaces in the country. Slaves would be taken to Louisville to be "sold down the river" and transported to the cotton plantations in states further south.
The Ohio River runs through Louisville and is, as we all remember from high school geography class, a tributary of the Mississippi River.

Of course not, Mattel will be bankrupt and sold next year. I am happy that the greedy and inept leaders decided to give bonuses this year though. While other companies are cutting pay and saving money our execs gave bonuses.
