Agreed the union needs to be replaced. Just convincing people to actually vote them out is the problem. People like to complain about this and that but when it’s time to actually voice it thru a vote, they don’t show up.

Hell, there’s some stewards that need to be bumped out too. You can talk to 4 of them about the same thing and it’s 4 different answers. And usually their all wrong when you actually call to talk to a Rep. A lot just talk out their a–.

The board is so used to lining their pockets, like how we are used to cell phones and internet that we can't be without. They will never change! Money>productivity>safety and people comes last. Need to get rid of the whole board and start from scratch. Also need a new union, this IAM is so cowering!

Be great to be able to vote in a ceo like we do with politics.

Our current jack a– wouldn’t have made it outta the dugout.

Flush them all out. And while we’re at it, maybe start something to flush out this “union”

Who would have ever imagined that any ceo or board members would take the goose laying the golden eggs to the chopping block stretch its neck and with one swing k–l it’

Been with Boeing for awhile they k–led big projects before SST’ WC14 hydroplane gun boat, just a few’ don’t for a moment think 737 couldn’t be down for years

We couldn’t cancel the 737 line. That’s a whole plant....besides sharing it with the P8, and wouldn’t be possible or financially feasible.

Probably postponing the 777X and even giving it a change to work out more bugs could be a start. The 787 line gonna be a ghost town. Still need people on the tanker. 747....already low staff.

Just thoughts. I’m a lowly MT so yeah...

Probably cancel 737 line, shut down 787 line in Everett, and just enough to maintain 767, 777, 747 lines’ the 10 percent is going to equal 30 percent in Washington

What are you even talking about? Yes it’s everyone in this threads fault those planes and space craft go boom. mo–n.

People don’t wanna lose their jobs. You referring to participation awards must mean you got nothing because you did nothing.

Go back to your corner and waste away.

None of us deserve to loose our jobs. Its horrible that it’s out of our control. And I hate saying there’s nothing we can do about it.

I’m sure Carolina will be hit pretty good since they’re just 1 line basically and it’s getting a rate cut. But it’s gonna hit us up here too.

Wishing I had more seniority but it is what it is. Don’t what anyone to lose their job.

I pray for all you folks. Never thought this would happen to Boeing. Maybe the layoffs will be in South Carolina, versus Seattle. Keeping my fingers crossed for you all.

The manager you heard from is probably trying to be optimistic and positive. But L1 managers wouldn’t know when WARN’s or layoffs are coming quite yet. It’s literally on the executive level still for the most part. They know word leaks out so it’s usually not even at the 3rd level or next up yet.

The waiting and wondering s—s. But hopefully we get more time than what some think is next month for notices to come out.

I think management is saying that but I don’t think they believe that. Next week we will know. My guess is they have changed their thinking and know it’s necessary to do more now.... betting on VLOs and involuntary next week.

I heard from a L1 manager that ILO’s wouldn’t be until Q3 or later. The manager mentioned that Boeing wants to see what the makeup of the airlines looks like on the other side once this vivid stuff calms down. Also mentioned rate cuts would be determined at that time as well. That’s really what will drive the numbers for layoffs, the new rates. If the 787 is going to be cut, what’s going to happen to 777? No one wants the X. Freighter maybe...

@fod+14EmbF3R They’ll announce a number most likely next Wednesday the 29th. It’ll come in waves.

Just hope it’s not deep for all of us. Joking about boomers or flat bills types is fun but none of us want to lose our jobs. Reality is there’ll obviously be a lot and it’s out of our control.

Still s—s.

@why+14EmbF3R Turn around the company that he helped run into the ground. It's been said a million times but it's unbelievable that Calhoun and the board are still around to even be given the opportunity.

My thoughts are initially they were going to try to do VLO and see where they stood. Now they are going to do VLO and most people that aren’t eligible. To be VLO eligible you need 1 year of service. I believe this will be done much sooner than people think. I also feel for the people that get WARN notices Boeing will payout the 60 days and not require them to work since they don’t want disgruntled employees on the planes. And after the initial round of VLO and involuntary layoffs there will probably be more. It’s very sad what is happening. Good luck every one.

My thoughts are that Dave Calhoun is in way over his head and I see no signs that he is up to the task of turning things around.
