Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Mechanic Perspective #Maintenance

Overlooked losses on the maintenance side cost this company a lot of money. That’s what you get when the good ol boy system makes managers when they shouldn’t be. Money management was a farce to these people. No accountability for maintenance processes or procedures. Burn a pump up, probably get a raise. Just hired hands as numbers to make sheets work. You’re average frac hand can barely spell his name, but trained by another guy that just figured out to pump gas in his car. I’m grateful I was able to learn from some old school.

Under qualified personnel , double standards, buddy buddy system, pay third party when we could do it ourselves, poor role models, overpaying under qualified new employees, oblivious to a cost budget, spend spend spend....it’s not my dollar, the list can be very long. Halliburton is too large , makes enormous mistakes, because we thrown out moral principles, common sense, everyday values and hire those who don’t give a rat sh–, as long as I get a paycheck.

It’s called the Pope syndrome. Ask him how he got his role. Many old timers know.

That GOB system has been in place as long as I can remember. It had it's place when HR was on the sideline and a boss could do your job and do his job. Today the friends help friends system is a problem that has created bigger problems. "Yes men" (better known as my friend or family I hired) aren't getting it done. There is no push back for bad policy or procedure, and know good decision maker close enough to support a team.
