Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Barnes and Noble is hanging in there

Stores are doing relays right now to make the store look better for when they open. Managers, any full-timers and a small crew of senior part-timers are doing the job plus BOPIS with curbside pick-up. Yes the sales are minimal but at least the core employees get to keep working. It’s a good thing, and they are practicing social distancing, all employees are working at least 6 ft apart, wearing gloves and mask and no d–k employees are allowed to come it, at least that’s how it is at my store. The whole country is suffering, at least Barnes and Noble is hanging in there. If Barnes and Noble closes, Amazon will have a monopoly and can charge what they want for books and for shipping. No one wants that, don’t be fooled, Bezos wants to control the market and book lovers everywhere will pay the price, dearly.

So much what @2ayv+14A0Z6Qz said.

Read the first paragraph of this article. A paragraph that GoodREADER omits.

"No new magazines will be sold at Barnes & Noble WHILE the coronavirus rages, Media Ink has learned."

Why sell NEW magazines when you are closed temporarily?

Also, Goodreads is owned by AMAZON.

Goodreads says they’re phasing mags out. How does that translate into someone “hates” the company and “ spreading lies”?
Learn to read instead of trying to be a spin doctor and corporate cheerleader

It’s so easy to hate this company. They’ve treated so many, so badly.

They ARE NOT doing away with magazines.

They stopped shipments due to hundreds of their stores being closed due to the pandemic. Why have current magazines delivered when no one can buy them? Shipments will resume once the stores reopen.

Read the facts and stop spreading lies because you hate the company.

Now they’re doing away with magazines. Guess that leaves more room for toys.

Do you enjoy getting thrashed books via curbside pickup? Do they have dented corners, yellowed tops, peeling spine edges?

The curbside pickup is a delight. Thank you B&N!

Yes, make it a bookstore in name only. Only sell books or go out of business.
