Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Nothing to complain about really

The Covid period has been well handled internally at Dell. There were no huge layoffs and no stupid knee jerk reactions. Yes the market is a mess but there was immediate "stay home" followed by a very well done series of Virtual engagements, training and support programs.

I thought the FRS training was actually better and more effective online, certainly was more cost and time effective and you dont lose whole days travelling . . dont get stuck in long tiring group sessions so I learned a lot more and could stop/rewind/read again.

Everyone also worked a lot harder, everyone talked about being smashed by customer escalations and requests and working crazy hours. No one slacked off. I was expecting to be the only group going but everyone did.

So we just need to see that the market recovers but all for an employee I cant complain. Dell handled this well

Sounds like someone with the LUXURY of working from home, come join the ESSENTIAL workers and you might be singing a different tune.

They laid off a whole dept during this and had a group of people in India take their job during the virus more or less. They also haven't hired an American for the sever side of remote install 4 over a year.

Agreed. Dell helped me out in the crisis and I'll be loyal for at least the next few months in return.

Ya, just premature to say no raises or reviews for the year. That was pretty knee jerked.
