This should not be your “forever” job.

A good CEO could turn Mattel around in 12 months, sadly all our recent CEOs have been just terrible. Instead of hiring someone who knows how to fix broken companies, we keep hiring people based on gimmicks.
Look! Not only is she a woman, but she also has a background in tech, an industry famous for over indexing in toxic men! She'll save Mattel by bringing tech to toys while also boosting Mattel's image as progressive leader who's not afraid to lean in and hire a strong woman leader. Give her a leather jacket, a fresh new hairstyle, a cool slogan and sit back in WONDER as she turns the ship around!
Well, that really didn't work out. I know, let's hire her hot shot Hollywood producer type buddy. What he lacks in progressive intersectionality he makes up for in slick presentation and his cool as a cucumber demeanor. He even started a media company and sold it to Disney, so it stands to reason he'll be able to turn Mattel into a media company and sell us to Disney too! Yeah! I'm so pumped to go see all the big blockbuster movies based on brands like Barbie, Hot Wheels and the Magic 8 Ball, I've already pre-ordered tickets on Fandango!
So glad I dumped my useless Mattel stock last year @ 16. Still lost since I was buying for more than a decade, which at one point was around 40 a share. Seems they just cannot bounce back. Sad Mattel's greedy and stupid decisions have cost them the title as leader of the toy industry.
No rewards for the naive.
I retired from blah blah blah.
I worked there for 40 years blah blah blah.
If you worked there for that long and never ventured out of your comfort zone you deserve to be left behind.
Progress waits for no one.
There’s no payoff for your loyalty in case you’re just waking, up rip van winklestein.
Besides you probably actually believed that mission statement BS where they say the company cares about you. Giggle.
There is no forever job. Period. End of story. Get over it.
Bye Boomer, things have changed alot over the past 40 years. Mattel is not a forever job, it is not even a good 1 year job. It does teach what not to do and how not to run a company. Mattel is like Sears and KMart and JCPenney, once great but now a joke. Mattel will file bankruptcy and will become a case study for all future MBA students. Unfortunately for those of us still working here we’ll either be laid off or stuck for awhile at this awful company because nobody will be hiring anytime this year or next. It is depressing either way.
I retired from Mattel after 40 years and it was an excellent place to work and a great "forever job" so please keep your millennial pie hole shut and talk about what you know like your love of Bernie Sanders.
Its a f—ing job. Half the people on here have forgotten that because they drank the cool-aid thirty years ago. This company isn’t as important as they would have you believe.
