New Managers

Wonder if any of those new managers they just set up to replace the foreman and foreman generals are going to be sticking around? Now that they are getting told they have to take unpaid leave, and quite possibly a pay cut because just a week off isn’t enough to offset the hemorrhaging that’s occurring because of the bad business practices the current regime has implemented.

This is a test to see if everything runs with 25% less manpower. TADA if so, Head will roll come September. The real reason they don't cut 25% now is they are not sure the railroad will function. No one should believe this is a cost-cutting move, there is not enough saving. They still pay benefits costs; ie medical and taxes. To cut 1/12 of management salary for the 1/3 of the year, it's a drop in the bucket to how much the need to cut.

They can’t use vacation to offset the unpaid leave from what I took from the article, also not sure they can force agreement employees to take unpaid leave it goes against the agreements they have with all the unions and possibly the contracts but not totally sure one that. The article also stated non unionized employees.

They can’t have agreement take a week off because they’d have to charge them with absenteeism

honestly, what did they expect joining UP management in the year of our lord 2020?
I'm surprised they had enough brain cells left to sign the paperwork.
