Starting with the EDS execs who managed to con HP into purchasing EDS for billions, then proceeded to run for the hills with the money, through spin offs, mergers etc. this company has been no more than a smelly carcass existing for execs to pick the remaining flesh from the bones. I recall attending a senior meeting in the UK where the HR Director received a pat on the back for advising various managers on how to force employees to quit and not have to pay redundancy. I had to repeat many times the lie that this year we were going to give substantial raises not bonuses, only for later in the year telling the gullible employees that next year they would be rewarded with bonuses, not increases this year. We would target 30%+ margins, 15%+ contingency then add the contingency, along with training, documentation, quality etc. to the margins. The contracts were written to make sure words like guarantee and penalty were never applied to us. It was a dishonest smoke and mirrors company that worked over its employees. It still is. Why any organization would do business with them is a mystery.

Yep and these pay rises will never materialise they keep pushing them back every quarter and just announce cuts, how can the new Mikey be trusted as he has not given anything tangible except for talk and cuts.

The Kings Cross, you were not on the ALL hands call that I was on. What I heard sounded like the New Mike is going in the right direction and for once I am fired up about this company. Getting rid of managers and people who do nothing, correcting processes that are all f'ed up and giving rasies to the rack and file people who do the work!

Usual story from CSC and DXC more and more cuts - year on year. They are cutting but still recruiting jobs on their job pages; hopefully this time they can retrain people to different roles.

If you're a customer facing person then at moment job is safe - until the client you work for decides to scale back their operations with their own job cuts, the client itself goes bankrupt, or decides to bring back IT into their own organisation (which may be cheaper option in the long run).

We need to lay off techies who actually deliver stuff, but we need to bring in more senior execs to help "restructure" and feed off the carcass before it's all gone.

I took VR from the old CSC three years ago, as I was fed up to the teeth of the ways things were going. Just checking now for the fun of it, and I can see F All has changed. Get out while you can, it's a losers company.

Customer facing or not cuts are underway. Seen both internal and customer accounts going.

More of the same from the management of this company. As someone mentioned, the Furloughs sounded like Steve reading from a script. He obviously has not read the UK Furlough rules. He did mention that the people would be Covid related but he did not mention that you have to have the agreement of the employee.

We now get an email from Mike Salvino informing us that work from home ( virtual working ) will stay until at least 6th July. That will give them enough time to work out what staff they need and who they can axe. Suspect there will be a lot more than 500 going.

After all these years for pain this is another punch in the gut from CSC and HP. How can the staff deliver positively to their clients when the they are always at risk of loosing their own livelihood. How will DXC ever rid itself of the week company it portrays and gain the confidence from their clients. I am deeply upset that management has made this decision.

To be fair, Salvino did not plan Covid and all companies have adjusted to the pandemic one way or the other. Airlines and hospitality industry have been decimated, we are lucky that we have a job. Please just be mindful of the situation and do not stir the pot. With new leaders on board, there is a good chance that we can come out of this unscathed.

Inspiring speech. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, we get the worse All Hands Call effort ever. Thanks for all you’re doing, now F off. Mr Motivator he isn’t !

Has Mike Lawrie actually left or has nothing changed? The pay rises keep getting pushed down the line and redundancies up the list.

Clearly the strategy is Mike means Mike = Job loses, low morale, & keep telling them pay rises on the way.

Lawrie or Salvino = makes no difference, just good shares and pay for the management, keep hiring Accenture chums/execs on big pay.

The 500 redundancies i do not think there is any VR option for these people, also no information on any consultation. As usual Unite union seem toothless. As for the furloughs-'from immediate effect', one can tell that this was someone reading from a prepared script

My suspicion:

  • 500 people take at least a 20% pay cut (government payouts being limited to £2,500 a head) and are laid off
  • Remaining staff will work harder for no reward and all clients will get billed
  • DXC saves 100% on wages for 500 people and books the revenue the would have earned anyway and profit goes up.

Morally bankrupt is this is the case

Of course there aren't any details. That would imply that there were actually specific redundant roles. It's not about that at all. It's just general cost takeout.

I expect if you wait until later in May you will see the year end miss was exactly the same percentage as the number of people vs UK employees. We miss by 5%, 5% of you go.

This won't be a UK thing only though, I'd expect to see the same in the USA and Australia.

I hope new Mike is back on the phone with the clients explaining how he had lied to them only a short while ago.

I doubt you'll hear where/depts unless you're there. This thing about billable/non-billable safety is horse manure. Same pig, different lipstick.

More layoffs are coming. Financial performance of DXC is really bad and they will be cutting 10% of workforce across the world. No one is safe!!! Sal is only interested in himself and protecting his pockets.

Disgusting attitude from management as always, day 1 of Covid, we support you all we care attitude.
4 weeks later revenue and business actually climbing but time to cut the dross, easy target due to UK Government offering Furlough .
Those not eligible then simple redundancy, worst company to work for should cut management wasters rather than the already broken workforce.

DXC is not showing any signs of change. New Mike is the same as the Old Mike with massive cost saving targets the only strategy. Pay rises are also pushed back to later in the year if at all. So much promise from Salvino has turned into empty rhetoric.

I should think it's really a cinch to find five hundred people doing nothing who won't cause any impact to customer service. I mean it's been years since anyone scoured the place for idle hands...

The "not front line" skit is just puff, those five hundred will be anyone. They will be asking all managers to find one or more names.

Just more of the same. New Mike is old Mike. We waited to see if he wasn't, but he is.
