Where are the updates of store closings and massive layoffs? I am frothing at the mouth for BN to shutter for good. I am really excited for it to happen, and soon.

Corporate responder, what stores in Arizona will not reopen? Thank you.
LIES !
I’m in corporate and some stores WILL NOT reopen.
'Have any locations closed for good yet?'
NO!
Have any locations closed for good yet?
Stores are doing relays right now to make the store look better for when they open. Managers, any full-timers and a small crew of senior part-timers are doing the job plus BOPIS with curbside pick-up. Yes the sales are minimal but at least the core employees get to keep working. It’s a good thing, and they are practicing social distancing, all employees are working at least 6 ft apart, wearing gloves and mask and no d–k employees are allowed to come it, at least that’s how it is at my store. The whole country is suffering, at least Barnes and Noble is hanging in there. If Barnes and Noble closes, Amazon will have a monopoly and can charge what they want for books and for shipping. No one wants that, don’t be fooled, Bezos wants to control the market and book lovers everywhere will pay the price, dearly.
The narrative “pushed” on this site is the company has treated their employees badly in the past, and Will continue to so.
I also await t their closing. Amazon’s customer service is thousands of times better than this once great company.
you don't want this business to fail. if it does, all you have left for books is amazon.
Been buying books from Amazon for a long time, now. Less expensive and receive the books on the DAY they’re released ! BN can’t do that !
Are these furloughed employees asked back working on a relay wearing masks or social distancing? I think not. Any stores in a state that closed down non-essentials that are doing this and not following guidelines should be investigated. Barnes and Noble will endanger anyone to stay open.
our store just added a number of hours and brought back furloughed employees to help with the relay. they aren't closing. this isn't something a company in the process of going under is going to do. sorry to disappoint you, but remember, a lot of good people still work there. a lot of people who have been with the company for decades still are. it's not all "part timers who don't care" or whatever narrative is pushed on this site. you don't want this business to fail. if it does, all you have left for books is amazon. it isn't a good look.
They have financial backing from a massive hedge fund and no debt due in the near future. They’re also remodeling stores while they’re closed, which isn’t something a company preparing for liquidation would do. Best guess is they ride this out but close a significant amount of lower performing stores in the process.
