Every other airline from what I can see has allowed its HQ employees to work from home - what the hell is wrong with American Airlines to keep denying us? They will suspend service in plains to protects flight attendants but who cares about us, right? Why won't they let us do our work from home if we can???

I/T is still working on projects to enhance the applications even during this time! We are also going to migrate the aircraft from the old LAA system to the chosen LUS system. I/T is an essential dept at all times.
The aircraft maintenance technicians are all on duty, but we probably don't need as many due to most aircraft being grounded and a extremely reduced flight schedule.

IT is working from home already
Yeah, we have 1000s of people in specialized departments that can work from home.
But as @pjk noted, most of us cannot work for home - we have to tend flights, planes, supply chains. We just cannot work from home...
IT, HR, Finance, back office, etc - I totally get it - let those folks go home, login and take care of business while away - all others, we have no options.

I'm curious. What work would we be doing from home in our industry? Our flights and planes are grounded. Crews are not flying or working. There is basically nothing to process when people aren't traveling and planes aren't flying. Maybe I'm missing something. You might be in a very specialized department and job where even as the rest of our company is shutdown, your job still requires you working. What job do you have? Thanks.
