NO good things to be gained by working there. Horrible, greedy and inept executives who only crare about enriching themselves.

"Obama healthcare with 2 dependents starts at over 8k."

I helped my son shop for Obamacare several years ago.

The price depends on your income, state, etc. They have gold, silver, etc. plans. The silver plans are the ones with income-based subsidies.

Also, don't look at deductibles - look at the maximum "out-of-pocket" which varies with income. If you meet the out-of-pocket first, then the deductibles no longer count.

You may find your Obamacare costs more than 8k or a whole lot less.

I hope this helps.

Obama healthcare with 2 dependents starts at over 8k. Most people don't know this until they start shopping. I feel for you, there's short term HC but may not count to the mandatory coverage.

Also you have to fill the bucket first now, aka you pay first after paying for health care. What a crazy world.

There are none any longer. The culture is horrible. People are paranoid, respect is no longer a value. People still here are to busy trying to show their value they will step on you, steal your ideas or ride on your coat tails. This place is toxic and leadership spreads it. People talk rude to each other, leaders talk down publicly, they are stressed. Good people are on self preservation mode. I chose to leave making my numbers because it’s not a healthy place to be anymore. It’s very sad

How’s your Hindi? You’ll need it to do the needful with the concerned in order to revert.

But seriously, there is no list of good because the list of bad is so off setting. The person who posted about the medical benefits hit the target. If i got laid off my medical benefits would actually improve. How f’d is that?

The good things are; there are benefits, not the greatest but better than nothing. They will hire almost anyone that can pass a substance screen and is not a felon. They will give you a merit increase of 1% per year if you are deemed "meeting expectations", if you "exceed expectations" you might get 1.5%. You get vacation, optional holidays, some sick time and a bonus "mental health day" You might meet your manager the first day and never see them again until you get a workforce reduction call. You can now work from home unless you are out in the field. I think that is about it.

Depends on what you are looking for Technical? Sales? Management? Do you have experience or looking for something entry level? I came in at an entry level technical position 15 years ago. It's a great place to learn as you work in all sorts of equipment. Lots of documentation is missing along with skilled employees from previous companies. There has been lots of mergers of various companies , alot of the back office systems are playing catch up.

If you look at Glassdoor you will see mixed reviews. HR asked everyone to post on there about 6 months ago because the approval rating was 31% for the CEO and leadership.

Do not work there if you need health insurance. I worked at Windstream for 1yr after they bought the company I worked for before I resigned. I paid $8000 that year in health care contributions out of my check. They did not put a single dime towards a doctors visit or a single pr-scrip-ion because I didnt hit the $3800 deductible. So I paid $8k for health insurance that didnt cover anything and I have $3k in medical bills still sitting at my house for basic doctors visits and pr-scrip-ions. No surgeries or any illness from my household of 4 that year. Just allergy meds, blood pressure meds....monthly scripts we need. Had to put the scripts on my credit card, who has $700 a month for 4 pr-scrip-ions?! Windstream salaries are below par to begin with. I went into debt working at Windstream for 1yr

I worked there for 2 years. Most of the guys I worked with were really good people. They helped the customers and all techs helped each other when needed. Far as everyone from management and above wasn’t to friendly. All about numbers and didn’t care about anything as long as their numbers looked good and they didn’t catch any heat from the person above them. You will find yourself doing something that makes absolutely no sense but you have to do because that’s what management said. That’s why the company is failing and in the worst shape it’s ever been in. Does everyone agree??

Salary below industry standards and no raises. Worst health benefits I have ever had in 35yrs in telecom. VoIP products are sub par. Unless you are working on their transport backbone(winterstate) its all really old technology, so I do not recommend it as an entry level position. Unless your choice is homelessness or Windstream I would look elsewhere.

depending where you are it may be decent money for the market your in. Otherwise maybe a decent entry job until you can land a gig at a real company. Everyone is miserable beyond belief.

Don't work here, no transparency. Constantly moving goal posts. Upper management is clueless. Like being the the band on the Titanic, keep playing happy music! No negativity, you might have a better idea, we don't want to hear it.

You will be told a bunch of lies and partial truths. However you can’t fully understand what lies you’ve been told until you are hired.

Don't expect any PPE. From gloves to hand sanitizer, or even fall protection. It's not important.

You can expect layoffs, and the clowns running the show to push their mother in front of a bus if it'd earn them a bonus.

You can expect old vehicles, and a good old boy network that ensures you'll never see a promotion.

You can expect that salaried positions work like slaves, and hourly folks are often asked to leave early to reduce overtime.

Oh, and lots more gray hair.

First commenter forgot to disclose the high cost of those benefits. I took a $15K a year hit in salary after being laid off but I can’t tell it since my new employer offers much better benefits.

By the way, WIN isn’t out of the woods yet and there will be more layoffs especially within the next year.

Just something to consider. Good luck!
