Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Att and Comcast receive 20% pay increase for hazard pay.

https://about.att.com/pages/COVID-19.html

Yet we still have no masks, inventory shortages of hand sanitizer and no wipes.
Thank goodness I received my XL gloves... their only 2 sizes too large...

We are still required to go inside to wire jacks for Gpon and pair bonds.

Comcast has already taken away our hazardous pay after 30 days, putting thousands of employees and customers at risk by making technicians go into customers homes who could have potentially been exposed to the virus. Huge lawsuit waiting to happen.

It's sad that Jeff and his management team hold themselves in such high regard. All company emails state how they appreciate the outside forces but in reality they dont have a clue. The only ppe we have is hand sanitizer. I had to ask real estate to send a cleaning person to our garage to disinfect.. No Hazard Pay , the only ppe is hand sanitizer and that's only because we had some on the shelves already. A big thankyou jeff.

Some Techs I know asked this question concerning the Hazard pay, Comcast, and AT&T, giving 20 percent, have been also told 25 percent at AT&T. Front line Managers also getting a 1000 dollar bonus. Throw in Retailers Walmart 2.00 an hour raise and Kroger giving 300 dollar bonus to everyone full time from Cashiers to warehouse people and 150 to part time.

We keep being told we are the most important part of the company right now, being there for repair and upgrade needs because of the Virus, we have no PPE except what we can scavenge or buy ourselves.

The Techs were told they have to run it up the ladder to High Level management.

Ok first of all, if they consider us so important and appreciate us doing what we are doing, rolling the dice every day on whether we will get infected while adding to their profit margins, you would think running it up should not even be necessary considering the competition is doing it already.

Secondly I hold out no hope they will do the right thing, they have no motivation, the Voluntary layoffs matured on the 27th and the Surplus is going to be done in May, anyone the lose due to they Virus is just icing on the cake. They are all sitting at home writing these feel good Emails about how important the Customers are and how we need to do our best to meet their needs and demands and oh Great Job we Appreciate you.

Here's your Participation Trophy.

I work at Verizon as a tech and we get no extra pay....we were allowed to bring our trucks to our houses however....but, my gloves (which I stole from a central office”, are basically one size too small....I have one bottle of sanitizer left...I brought 2 nice particle masks from home as they gave us nothing....and still they hound us on our jobs and want to know status of jobs and when we will be done....also still pushing time arrival windows....of course we get no extra time alotted to prep and clean things as the b–tards still gotta make their damn numbers....can’t wait to retire....

They aren't going to step up until someone starts shaming them mercilessly. In the press. 0n TV. Let's play.

CenturyLink is thinking if 3 percent of their employees die then that helps with the numbers. No need to pay VSPP if you don’t have to.

You must be smoking some really good stuff if you think they will give US anything. They are working their hardest to get rid of us. Yes, no access ANY inside work whether they like it or not. SAFETY ISSUE. Fokkers.
