With Intermodal and Autos $hitting the bed, Energy headed into the tank, Industrial slowing at a more aggressive pace and Ag harvest too far away...we are now looking for every orifice or short line who can handle storing an undetermined amount of railcars for an indeterminable amount of time. Cars coming off lease are being dumped, customer-owned equipment is being pushed back...it’s going to totally jam things up for 2020. Do we measure how many miles of unused railcars we have? Somebody better start a measure, maybe put it on the big board each day in HQ and HDC.

There is a small sand transfer yard by my place with about four or five tracks. It has been stacked full with boxcars for a few months.
it should be a wake up call to the stockholders that the golden boys plans are failing and not going to work much longer and they need to correct the business strategy for this company quickly. It would be nice to see a metric on just exactly what you are suggesting but we all know they’d never put out the real number because they’d be admitting failure and they can’t do that.
