Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

“We all must contribute to reduce VPN usage”

Just got off a call with upper leadership who is making subtle, passive aggressive comments to site leaders and lower level management making all employees use their personal cell phones to join Skype CC’s all in the name of “preserving VPN bandwidth”

It’s a doggone shame that a billion dollar plus company don’t have the infrastructure to even support multiple departments working from home. And that they are considering having people work split shifts all because our systems will crash during peak hours.

Thousands of people are out of work and would love your job. I love to hear the entitled whiners complaining. Clearly you feel like you work in a protected socialist state. So many people would love to have all that you have. Many would actually work harder.

Look at HR employment laws or the compliance info. I believe personal cell data and phone use for business purposes regardless of role is to be reimbursed. Or provided by the company. All roles.

Ok. So we have to use our cellphones. What’s the problem? We are in the middle of a national crisis, why are we not able to meet the company half way by using our cellphones, especially if it’s going to assist the company with keeping our systems up and running. After all, they were accommodating enough to allow LOTS of employees to work from home unexpectedly.
