I, like many of you, am interviewing for roles outside of Optum and I am about to have my final interview with a competitor Aetna. Is there a policy spoken or otherwise about when you announce you accepted a job with a competitor in that do they ask you to leave immediately or do they allow you to stay and work your last 2 weeks?

If you disclose you’re going to a competitor you service will shut down immediately. In situations where the reason is money, you will receive a matching or slightly higher offer. This offer does not always occur as it is primarily for functions that are hard to fill from the outside and the workers salary can be viewed as subpar.
Yikes. Good luck at Aetna
My experience is that truly do not care the WHY or WHERE.
I retired from Aetna and began working for UHG the following Monday. Aetna treats employees decently....UHG does not!!! Good luck! You are going to a good, good place.
That's not true about the PTO. There are states which mandate they pay you your unused PTO. Just look into your state's laws. Also, they will most likely let you work the last two weeks. However, I've also seen workers walked out when put in their two weeks. A good indicator of what could happen is... What happened with the last person whom left the company. Good luck.
You have to use your PTO before giving notice or they don't let you take it.
Don't disclose where you are working. You probably didn't sign a non-compete clause so you should be good but I have heard of them trying to stop someone from going to a competitor.
Best of luck!
Be sure to use up your PTO during your 2 week notice. They don't pay for unused time.
Do NOT disclose where you are going and they have zero legal precedent to require you to tell them. Close the door and best wishes!
Thanks for the feedback. Best of luck and good health to all!
Do yourself a favor and don’t say where you are going. It’s a new opportunity period. At least until you are gone for some time. There are a lot of crazy agreements with Optum and their competitors. While you are unlikely to have a problem it would be best not to chance being the one who did.
I got to work my last 2 weeks, but I did not disclose where I was going.
