Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Got what you paid for I guess...

Hey Optum leaders... Firing American workers and sending their jobs to the Philippenes to save a dollar and now they're on lockdown in their homes and unable to work from home due to their 3rd world internet. How'd that decision work out for you?

Bring back the US employees you fired, that is if they are even willing to come back.

16 years, Nope, you couldn't pay me to come back. I'll keep my severance and go work at Target before I go back there.

@eytn+145BLXbL in answer to your question...Y-E-S!!

I worked for UHG for 20+ years, I was never on a CAP, consistently earned strong 4s and 5s on annual performance reviews, was viewed as a SME for several areas of the company and was laid off July/August 2019 after advising a VP that the proposal to offshore some PHI/PII data was a violation of several mandates/regulations and in some cases would cause us to knowingly break contractual obligations we had with some of larger client groups. Sadly, this company which used to be great is nothing but a shell of its former self, there is no adherence to their core values of integrity, compassion, relationships, innovation and performance.

Do they really layoff top performers?

You couldn't pay me enough to go back to the toxic work culture and poor leadership at UHG. I've heard from UHG friends that they're regretting some of the past layoffs because now they're so short staffed in many areas now that coronavirus is taking over the US. Wichmann is showing his true colors now and is running the organization into the ground and tanking the stock.

I was let go after nearly 3 decades, and always a solid/high performer on my evals. i wouldn't go back at this point. Not only did they treat me like garbage to be thrown away, as a manager they were consistently asking me to treat others that way. Not my nature, and probably one of the reasons I was released. Good riddance, they deserve whatever they get.

RIGHT; ONE OF THE DUMBEST MOVES EVER. THIS COMPANY HAS SUNK TO THE BOTTOM I SHOULD HAVE UNLOADED MY STOCK - JUST LIKE CERTAIN SENIOR LEADERS DID - RIGHT BEFORE THE PANDEMIC WAS ANNOUNCED.

Ditto. Optum/UHG leadership do not live their own values. Their leadership is the worst! Only way I'd come back is if they promoted me to leadership, actually listened to me, and paid me twice the salary I made!

I would not come back. Can’t trust they wouldn’t do the same thing again. After 14 yrs of top performance just to be discarded like a bag of trash.
