Thread regarding Follett layoffs

"Stay at Home" Order

Quite a few businesses in the state are still going to pay employees while the Govs "Stay at Home" declaration is in place. What is Follet going to do? Most of us have no vacation or sick leave left since it's the end of the fiscal year. Are we just screwed?

Why do you think people show up to work? If you don't go to work, you don't get paid. Not everybody has paid time off or vacation. And you can't collect unemployment if they don't lay you off which they're not doing. Follett told us to show up to work. So that's what we're going to do.

Why would you "do it anyway"? Why would you make extra work for some security personnel that has much more important things to do than "kick you out" This isn't just an inconvenience. This is serious and lives are at stake.

My store is on campus so we were told not to show up to work on Monday. We are going to do it anyway and let security kick us out.

So, who would decide whether or not a store closes?
Is it down to Follett or the school?

they will probably let you borrow your PTO for next year and act like they are doing you a favor.

For now, we are told to disregard the order and report to work. See the COVID-19 thread.
