Does this affect anyone who recently switched positions, got a promotion, etc? Do you think they’ll be the first ones laid off? Looks like the path we’re going down

Want a promotion?
GET OUT!!!
The merit increase cancelled is truly done in a bad taste, totally jumping at any opportunity to take away employees decent chance of rightfully earning our hard-earned pay. What was achieved was for last year 2019 results, so employees should get the deserved pay rise for it. At least give the pay rise and if next quarter business is doing not good, well you can say a percentage of pay cut. Not totally taking it off. It's tough being a Honeywell employee, CEO and management folks just eating well and getting fatter in their waistline and bank accounts. Oh God, save us the slaves.
This is the exact reason unions were formed. Too bad unions became greedy as well.
F—ing b–tards. That's all one can say. HON Net income in 2019 is about 6B USD and Retained Earnings is about 36B USD, but sure we desperately need your 3-4% salary raise to stay alive. I'm so p-ss-d off that it's hard to continue in my work. Employees are slaves. That's it. Nothing more.
I remember the first time Honeywell cancelled our merit raises. They said the raises would be “delayed” until next year.
I pressed to get a clear explanation on whether the next year’s raise will include two raises. The current year and delayed year. We never received that “delayed” raise.
Short answers to posters burning questions:
Yes.
What is selfish is the stock buy backs, instead of putting the money directly into the company. Then we are told no merit increases from what was accomplished the year before. Let’s keep in mind this is all due to speculation. Maybe giving raises out and then communicating to everyone that next year is in question, might have helped morale a bit more. So due to inflation and not receiving a COLA, we lose money every year. Then hearing about the 1 trillion bailouts coming, which will cause inflation to go even higher, we seem to lose ground again. Selfish? You are selfish for not having the courage like most employees, and standing up against this. So if and when this all blows over and the stock screams right back up to record highs, do you think the company will reconsider? “Just be happy you have a job?” Have fun opening the stock page for Honeywell and seeing how the CEO made 20mil.
Promotion? Selfish... of you
I was supposed to get promoted. Asked my manager if I would still get it during all of this and they said they aren’t sure how it’s going to work. So odd are no people will not get there promotions because of this.
