Virus cancelled lay-off

The March 24 lay-off has been postponed. If you don’t think this virus is serious, pay attention. They aren’t going to lay off because they are worried about having enough workers, literally enough warm bodies to keep us going. Now is the time to show leadership what we are made of, so they will understand they don’t have a talent issue, they have leadership issues

I feel like after this pandemic is over the bean counters will get back in the office and say " wow we paid out alot of claims for covid-19 testing and treatments. We need to hunker down and layoff more US workers and hire more phillipines people to cut costs. Just hire 10 ph employees to replace 1 highly qualified US EMPLOYEE, no one will say a word.

A lot of times when you see strange secure things it’s because you may be loaned to help another teams work, I’ve seen and requested several with what’s going on now. Calm down people not everything is dooms day and even if it is what are you going to do about it? Good luck finding different employment right now.

I just checked secure and there is a new entry from last week. My department name and GLFuncdesc and glfuncCD have all changed. What do these categories refer to? The description lists a team other than the one I am working on now. Now I am panicked....

The COVID 19 used to be called SARS CoV 2. It is highly contagious and keeping social distance is key to stop the spread from person to person. Remember in a humane society, check on your neighbors and don't hoard supplies that others also need to survive. There is available treatment for people who are ill. The medications will be used as an off label treatment. Work from home when you can and stop fretting about frivolous topics. This pandemic is as deadly as the 1918 Spanish flu. Fortunately, our medical experts in infectious disease are smarter and the best of the best. Be kind and thoughtful and practice good hygiene and social distancing.

Chaos in Manila as Philippines launches coronavirus quarantine measures. Coronavirus: Philippines quarantines island of 57 million people.

Are the employees there working from home? If not, where are those cases being sent?

Virus postponed lay-off. More will be laid off when this is over as they try to recoup their losses. Hopefully they realize offshore wasn’t the best option for cost savings and stability.

They only need us in a crisis? Nope, not going an extra step for this place. And how would you like to be talking to a nurse in the Phillipines right now??? Shame on leadership...karma in the stock price!

They don't care if it's a leadership problem.
