Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I could have it. You could have it. Demand mandatory WFH!

With thousands of people in the HQ building, the possibility that you are standing next to someone on the elevator who is carrying the virus–even if they're asymptomatic–is huge. It would not be a good look, UHG, if even one person tested positive, or god forbid becomes deathly ill. It's only Monday, so maybe they'll do the right thing this week. If not, I think we collectively need to demand WFH for all.

Stop blaming Optum management...blame your state and local government. Once they issue a lockdown, the company has to comply. Period. Until then most of the management teams are making it voluntary to come in. You know, if you really don't want your job you can go somewhere else and find one. Walmart, and Amazon are hiring.

The copy of the email telling us we had to come in has been removed from the hub and our Sparq app. Instructions for work from home setup are in the app now too. Finally doing the right thing, here?

surprised to see the guidance. emails floating around saying its ok to meet with 10 people or less. The best thing Americans can do to fight coronavirus is stay home. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/03/15/coronavirus-stay-home-hel-america-save-lives-column/5054241002/

The fact that UHG and optum aren’t requiring WFH for those non-essential, non human facing roles is criminal. In fact, they are pressuring workers who are fully able to WFH to come into the office. It’s like they don’t understand the social distancing objective. Anyone else experiencing this?

You can be a carrier of CoV 19 and need to quarantine yourself and don't infect others. People without symptoms can still transmit the disease. Stay home and get tested now.

Ironic that Optum just terminated their telecommuters at the beginning of March and are now (hopefully) going to have everyone work from home.
