Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

Who else wishes layoffs were done already?

I'm so tired of waiting and so tired of stressing over this. If I find out I'm laid off it'll be hard but at least I'll know where I am and what I need to do. Right now, it feels like I'm stuck in limbo. No idea what's happening and no idea what my next move should be. No wonder my blood pressure is sky-high.

The last one last week in the st Louis office was swift and then business as usual. It's becoming normal for the 'reduction in force'.

Frontier is NOT hiring they are doing the same thing we are —I interviewed for them a while back last year .Have a friend who works for them its a dead end like this and all copper work we are typewriter repairmen unless you change your MO and learn fiber or learn wireless —its over for us we are watching the last act waiting for the fat lady to come out and sing—As far as last post Blood pressure comment its no joke i dropped almost 44 points off of my blood pressure and have kept it off i also lost almost 38 pounds and have kept it off im happier than i have been in many years i am glad to have stepped off of the wheel i abandoned the business completely not even doing any side work i am pursuing things i should have 20 years ago and i feel better than ever .......if your not happy and you you dont like uncertainty take the leap you'll not regret it—either that or do whatever you have to to move to a new technical area fiber wireless etc good luck I dont miss it a bit—I do miss what we were 10 years ago could no longer keep my mouth shut and did not want MY name associated with Centurylink any longer—dont wait for the lay-off if your thinking about it the market is ALREADY saturated with techs from Us ,ATT, Frotier,Verizon when you apply so do Hundreds of others—many with 25+ years in the field this is going to be my final walk away from telecom i did it once in 2003 for 10 years —ill never go back now its over –I just saw the fat lady on her way to the tunnel to the main stage

Just took the last and final Package and loving it! What a stress reliever. Thank god it came around again. Personally my timing was spot on. However layoffs will proceed this last package offer. Guaranteed. I feel for you 30-40 something yr olds. Keep up so date with your data skills, resume and spare tools if the trade. Good luck as I ride off into retirement bliss!😁😎🤪😏🇺🇸

I was laid of twice and will never go back . It s amazing because in my job I must have saved the company a lot of money , when you are responsible for millions of dollars of fiber optic circuits and you fix the problems , on call in the middle of the night but in the end they don't care what you did in the past or a week ago .
