can i get laid off already??? i volunteer as tribute! i'd leave on my own but to be honest any severance is better than no severance so i keep waiting. with so many already gone i'm starting to feel like i'm cursed with having to stay at this place at the same position - because i don't know anybody high enough to merit a promotion - forever.

Promotion is worthless in that place - as I recall, they give you more responsibility for no recompense. DXC people accepted it thinking it might look good on their CV or that some pay bands would make them look underpaid. They stayed underpaid until they left. I don't know anyone at DXC anymore, as they all left. But I get linked in or whatsapp messages from them. They all got serious job titles now because they left to work for smaller firms where there are few people to compete with for promotion and if you are the only one in the building with IT knowledge then you more or less get promoted to Head of this or that or become Chief Information Officer (IT Manager with a better car).
I am in a similar situation, but only worse. They are getting benefit of my skills and experience and using it for their benefit, while the tasks I am doing is not enhancing my skills. Doing work that is not part of my JD or where I want to be, but because of my skills I am able to do the current tasks. My manager is of no help here either... he doesn't care and comes up with vague excuses for not moving me to the right tasks.
Sad, sick, tired... So, why not get out of here....I am looking for remote work

unfortunately seems like it's not going to change and if you can find another job then go for it - better than sticking around and being ill from being at this place.
