For those who are long-term associates, the May company department managers were called Group Sales Managers (GSM). However, these folks did a fine job!
It’s funny. Back in 2015 they made women shoes and hand bags done by one manager. No raise. Sounds like you do more work for same pay. Which is a– backwards in terms of how the world runs. Who workers harder for same pay. ? So why would they move the manager then ?
The Store Manager hasn't had the "VP" in their title for over a year now. They've always been senior director level. This was not necessarily a demotion, but it can indeed affect things such as bonuses, etc. The store manager is not by any means the only position to lose the "VP" from their title... Nevertheless, their new position is called Store Team Manager (STM) in core stores and General Store Manager (GSM) in new neighborhood stores. Every single person in the building, except visual, now reports to the Store Manager: AP, receiving, you name it. So 10x more responsibility for the same pay? Take that as you will.
Whoops! Siri made a typo I didn’t catch! “THEIR”
To me it’s a somewhat lateral move but with more responsibility. Store managers are now supposed to have more input over there building and are apparently “CEO’S” their location, most store store population report to them now with few exceptions.
