Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Can anybody explain the toxic culture in some areas of Ford?

I noticed that there are some cliques of supervisors and managers who will be your enemy if you do not talk and walk like them.

The leadership culture at Ford is malevolent. They are inconspicuous however, and keep their clubs a secret (lot of outside work stuff that no one knows about). As much as it may pain you to see something failing; being obvious and calling it out is not worth it. You are best to let it get to the point where their cronies weak skill set cannot prevail and they have no choice but to deal with you. Bottom line, don't trust anyone, especially leadership.

The best a honest working people can be is on the outer circle. Ford did not invent this; it has been going on for thousands of years. The movie Eyes Wide Shut deals with this concept. Tom Cruise plays a doctor who has to revive some power broker's wh–e for the night. Again a situation the cronies cannot fix (they could illegally fix it they chose to however). But the best this doctor can be is on the outer circle. I won't give the whole story, but Stanley Kubrick was well known for exposing the seedy underbelly of humanity.

@mdd+13vZP27m Nailed it. The other favorite game is to sabotage an idea or invention until the inventor quits in frustration, then they put their name on the idea / invention and claim credit. It all goes back to people being under-skilled for the position they are in, and lacking the ability to acquire necessary skills they adapt with heinous behaviors.

Heirarchy over knowledge, despite giving lip service to knowledge over heirarchy. That's one of the biggest problems. Know nothing LL4s and LL3s dictating to the LL6s and GSRs in order to preserve their own bonuses.

The other problem is bullying. I've witnessed it at all levels. They make us sit through harassment training and then the LL4s+ treat the LL5s and lower like they are their personal whipping posts. From what I've read Farley is known for this behavior as well, so it is only getting worse as c-ap rolls downhill.

Bottom line, have an exit strategy. My personal goal is to land a new job, and the day before I give notice they lay me off with 3-4 months severance. Win-win.

In my area I witnessed some of this. Loyalty is valued. They tend to be less educated, feel extremely lucky to be making good money, and happy to "play the game". They spend half an hour drafting notes to superiors. They live in fear and may have feeling s of inadequacy
