Being flat, after years of decline, coupled with increased expenses to promote a seemingly undifferentiated brand, is not a win.

BB will be quick to take credit for Hot Wheels numbers. He's only good at throwing others under the bus and taking credit from others. He's totally clueless, everyone knows it.

more smoke and mirrors to try and sway investors from selling off and to keep creditors calm. This is a culture of behind the times constant failure. There’s is no more fp friends, core needs to be cut loose and who care about 3rd rate MEGA or some lame buttertooth brit brands from hit? mattel needs to ape the sucess of spinmaster in order to getting a clue.

FP Core was flat in Q4 compared to a decline of 12% in Q4 of last year. For the year it was down less than 1%, versus a decline of 10% in 2018.

Anyone know how the core FP brand did? I keep seeing it's sales lumped in with Fisher-Price Friends and Thomas & Friends saying the infant, toddler and preschool segment down 9%. That may be true, but if I were to guess Thomas and FP friends must be down way more than just 9%. Probably more like 30%. Does that mean FP core was up?

Fisher -Price got more money for adv and promo than they have in at least a decade. It didn’t help.

Mattel does well with their core brands from El Segundo of Barbie and HW. The acquisition brands do not do so well when they get no money allocated for D&D, marketing, or advertising. Their locations are out of site, out of mind. FP, AG, Mega, HIT, Thomas, good luck getting any meaningful budget to advance your brands. Barbie needs money this year for a facelift, HW needs money for a new engine and paint job.

It's so hard for Mattel to succeed when we're carrying FP, AG, MEGA and HIT on our backs. Come on guys, get it together!

Margo said she thought Mattel could be a profitable $4B company. She might be proven right. Certainly the sales are now around that. If Ynon can pull off operational savings and continue cost costs- maybe.

Mattel only lost $214M this year, last year we lost $533M. Woo hoo, we’re on our way now. The executives will all take their bonuses now.

Profitability beat estimates meaning Mattel did not lose as much money as estimated by Wall Street. But Mattel did not make a profit for 2019! They scored a D instead of a D- is what that means. Do execs deserve a treasure of compensation for a D- on year end earnings?

Expectations are so low at this point is hard to imagine how the actual results could be worse.
