Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Has anybody else noticed stuff like this?

Post SRD there has been a trickle of people disappearing from our department. All but one have been long time older employees. Two had recently had health issues and missed a lot of work. One we were told was behavioral related. The others no clue on what occurred. They were just gone and we later heard they were let go by HR. Sure it is none of our business why people get let go. Leaves you very fearful of the next tap being you.

This seems like a sneaky way to get rid of employees without the bad press and any costs. Have others noticed stuff like this happening?

Yes, CitySolutions, whatever became of that? Just another failure brought to you by FordX and Smart Mobility. Do they do anything other than waste capital in that group?

Oh, there have definitely been non-SRD "separations" (gotta love this company's creative ways to avoid the term "layoffs"). As stated many are done much more quietly and without media attention.

And for every announcement of Farley k–ling another initiative like GoRide, City Solutions (remember when that initiative was featured at an end of year financial announcement??), and ePID, there are people that aren't placed elsewhere.

On that last one. Farley keeps talking about the value of data coming off the vehicles. Without ePIDs how do you get data off of the 1000s of vehicles on the road without TCUs?
