Leadership Needs to Change in Upstate NY MEDICARE!

The leadership in Upstate NY Medicare needs to change. There is no cultural diversity amongst management. They enter Hispanic and Black communities to sell a special needs product but the VP of NY does not have any person of color. The VP also rid a person of color who was a vitale director of Virginia. Sad day for Medicare and Retirement NorthEast. I sure hope Linda and Mark are aware of his fictitious acts of diversity/ inclusion.

As far as vital signs answers, here's what I was told by a manager. " if we get a good score, all is well, if we get a bad score, we can explain it away so it really doesn't do much damage....BUT if we get a NEUTRAL or A SO-SO we can't explain it away and that is what they really don't want " so that is the score they get on every answer.....

Can anyone elaborate on answering VITAL SIGNS survey honestly. I’ve always wondered and did generally answer honestly with some negative ratings, more negative recently because you know, it’s deserved. (And I was laid off in November 2019.). I know I and the others were generally higher paid compare with peers in the same grade (IT Optum), and maybe more honest than average. So can we not assume surveys are anonymous? Even if they are, I suppose a manager can guess at some. And then if all ratings of a certain kind, then we’re all outed? I guess next time, next company, I’ll just skip it if I don’t have positive things to say.

MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO CHANGE IN NY PERIOD!! The plans have been run into the ground and Minnesota allows the same mean, vindictive people, who have no business being in their current roles, to run the show. How does this continue to happen? Did you answer your Vital Signs surveys honestly? I wouldn’t recommend that. You are likely to find your position eliminated. Those of you in NY who have been let go, consider yourselves lucky and move on. The State will be ending the contract and UHC will be done. It has been 3 years that UHC has been less than a 3 star plan. Those in charge in NY should be ashamed!!

Dead on! I kept asking myself why were the trainings changed??? Why were we told just last week there were no more layoffs??? Why were internal sales reps promised the opportunity to sell all products??? T.G. did terminate every person of color in upstate when I think about it! Why were we notified that our jobs would be eliminated by a group call instead of in person??? M&R always wanted the SDM positions eliminated and it happen. What’s heartbreaking, the ICA and EDC managers are lazy

You’re correct! He’s known to cherry pick. He’s referred to as the Captain of the good old boys club. It’s interesting how Medicare & Retirement in Upstate has no persons of color.
