Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

No job is worth taking your own life

Don’t do it. If you do, the company won’t care. Don’t let it take your life from you too.

Talk to someone get it out, vent, yell, scream, cry but don’t keep it in. It hurts it is traumatic but Eventually the Sun Will shine again for you and maybe even with an even better job with also better benefits....This is not the end of your road

How would anyone know that someone took their life due to a layoff? I'd never give an employer that much leverage in my life.

Yes! For the 20- something or even 30-something crowd, do not become a debt slave! Don’t buy into the money traps that our materialistic society pushes down your throat daily. SAVE SAVE SAVE . Only buy what is a real NEED VS a WANT. When someone asks you what your 5 yr. plan is REALLY THINK ABOUT IT!!

Any young people who were spared in the layoffs. Use this as a learning experience. Save your money, have a good balance between frugal and living life but live below your means, and invest as early as you can. It is not worth it for appearances to be living paycheck to paycheck if you do not have to. Having a large nest egg will give you peace of mind in the event your layed off later on in your career. You get more vulnerable as you age. It is just the way it is in corporate america.

What happened? Is this real or fake? Prayers for family if so and I bet UHG is not happy for what they did to them?

I strongly suggest we let the family mourn and not discuss it here.

Also, I've been on this site for a few years now, any discussion about harm and self-harm gets deleted, I would not be surprised if that happens here.

How terrible! I know for me, the scariest part would be losing income and paying the bills. I highly suggest Dave Ramsey's baby steps, for anyone that is in debt. It will take a huge burden off you, should you through a job loss. Only 40% of Americans can pay for a $1,000 emergency. That stat blew me away.
