is there any truth to the rumor that hiring managers are told not to hire internal employees from CA?

Oh f that. If she kept people wfh then there wouldn’t be cuts.
Well, someone is leaving in my department (CA) and we were told they are only hiring that open position in Indy. It comes to no surprise since many CA associates have a target on their backs due to the high costs. Writing is on the wall. I’m just riding it out 🏄♀️🏄
Agree, company has been avoiding high cost of living areas with a few exceptions based on business need, or leader fighting for really strong internal candidate. Approximately 2 yrs. or more.
CA and several other states have been affected by this for quite awhile now. This isn't new.
Atlanta and Indy. Yes. And India and Philippines. Nice.
I have a very good friend in HR (director level) so that’s where this info is coming from.
It’s not just California. It’s really all states. Unless the hiring manager can show business need, They are being “encouraged” to only hire in Atlanta and Indy.
@sgc+13o8JbQe are you a hiring manager? do you have this in writing?
