Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Ghost Workforce

Laying people off and then dumping their work on other departments creates a “ghost workforce” for Windstream and saves them $$$.

Unfortunately, it is at the employees expense. Eventually, people will wise up and leave. When folks are overwhelmed, mistakes are made, quality suffers, morale goes way down. Add that in with the fact that many workers are already at the point where they no longer care.

Companies that treat their employees terribly will not survive these days. All successful companies treat their customers well and treat their employees right, but that has to come from the top. Not gonna happen with the current regime at WS.

I’m not sure what this post is really about. I don’t think any groups at Win is trying to meet their objectives. The sales reps only work if someone calls them for a quote.

The lack of a plan or direction is just comical. They didnt even try to keep windstream solvent, the LR5 have just been in a full on cash grab the last few years. Its amazing how incompetence will be rewarded. LR5 get to retire, creditors take over the company but employees lose their 401k match entirely and will eventually lose their jobs. Do NOT wait for Elliot to come in and then start looking for a job, you will be competing with all of your current co-workers for the available positions in other companies in your area. The coming months will be a blood bath at windstream regarding layoffs. I wonder if the banks will still pay severance, dont count on it........

Managers and Directors have been MIA for a while now. Alot of people that work from home no longer respond to phone calls or emails. No projects on the horizon......everyone has checked out and we are just waiting to hear whats next and what the time table is. But the LR5 says things are business as usual from their yacht, so theres that

Management is acting like they need updates on stuff 3 years old now. Like its getting approved over T's free Win Wardrobe ( what bankrupt company tries to sell employees new clothes). numbers on the wall just waiting for it to be called and collecting a paycheck while not even getting out of bed till 12. Windstream Worst Managed Company in history.

I am told constantly to “stay in my lane” and just work the tasks assigned to me. Dont go looking for work because thats another teams responsibility and we dont want to do someone elses work.

There is no team work or collaboration. Managers make sure they are the only ones with contacts outside the dept.

When everyone around you has given up, what’s the point of trying to carry the workload.

Agreed. My moral was at an all time low when I left windstream. Quality of life soared immediately after resigning from windstream
