UP said this yard would be a lasting LEGACY. OOPs. So i mean WTH? Whats Hearn think? What are we going to do with it? Who does this?

There were several families that filed a lawsuit in the beginning, that land was in families for decades, they unfortunately lost their suits. They hated Union Pacific when it was under construction, I haven't been back down there since then but I'm sure it's worse now! UP was subcontractors building that facility at the time I was there.
Don’t worry about the farmers. Trump will give them free taxpayer dollars.

The land owners/farmers need to sue, property that was taken from them with the promise of economic gain for the community only to cancelled once everything was bulldozed. They are the real ones who suffered at the hand of UP!

It is a legacy. A memorial to the indecisiveness and lack of leadership that has plagued UP for years and will continue for years to come. Moment of silence for the clowns in Omaha.
I do feel bad for the surrounding communities and people that were hired and trained to transfer there. Just another UP kick in the balls.
It was one of the first things cut due to PSR, the reasoning behind it getting cut was we didn’t need it there wasn’t a logical logistical reason for it to be finished according to vena so it got the ax (rumors were supposedly shutting down smaller yards in other states was why it was being built). As far as what they will do with it that’s anyone’s guess nothing for the time being. This yard came from one of the former high level managers who got fired so someone somewhere is laughing counting cash from this decision
