Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Anyone finding jobs out there in oil and gas.............

With the rig count down to 790 I have not seen too many technical jobs out there. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, but it sure seems to be a tight job market.

You expecting anyone with any self respect to hire someone outta Oxy? The track record Oxy have in terms of work place accidents, environmental record, business disasters and the bigotry and harassment you people defend on this board? I made sure my company won't.

You are right. The oil industry, as a whole, has been in slow contraction mode for a couple of years. Lots of retirements and some layoffs have taken out the slack. Anybody who is looking for work knows that there are few openings. No surprise there. Good luck.
