The corporate response to The NY Times article was such a bag of lies. CVS says they are working with states to increase tech hours......are you bleeping kidding me! They say their retention rate is very high and has increased over the past 3 years,....I’d like to see where. We had 13 rphs resign in my District over the past year!! This company is so greedy and have no regard for their employees

I have been a cvs pharmacist for over 25 years, EVERYTHING in the New York times article is completely accurate. Larry Merlo should be ashamed. Patient safety is compromised on a daily basis due to lack of help. If someone in the news media really wants to call him out ask him to provide budgets for stores from a few years ago and current budgets. In most cases hours have been cut significantly ( both pharmacist and tech ) yet script volume is same or higher. DO THE MATH, ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.Do more with less. It's dangerous. Perhaps Larry should put on a lab coat ( he is a "pharmacist") and actually try to run a bench, he wouldn't survive a day. WAKE UP LARRY!!!

From my personal standpoint, thing are scary from BSL-3, and BSL-4 bioweapon labs, in all major countries, to vaccines, that Big Phama companies, out to make a big profit, are putting out to the public, where there is no controls, and to Dr.'s who, CVS, and Wal-greens, are ignoring their written pr-scrip-ions, and going ahead, and promoting the 3 month supply options. All in the name of money, and greed.

Let the public beware. Don't believe anything you hear, or read, in social media. Do your own research!

What CVS needs.............is a UNION. At least, there would be arbitration on issues, we are constantly complaining about. Believe me, I do not believe in unions, because, I think that their days have come and gone, however, the way Companies are now treating their servants, it may be time to return the unions.

What are your thoughts?

Look, Larry has a lot to loose, so he has to keep up with this facade of caring.

To the pharmacist complaining about insurance reimbursements, please don't forget that Caremark (aka CVS) could be the company that pushes that in the right direction, HOWEVER, they are the leader in pushing those reimbursements to an all-time low.

Pharmacist for 20 plus years...retail...private and with big chain for 10 years each ....this is retail pharmacy! Unless your store closed for a specified period there are no lunch breaks....how could there be with non stop patients/phone calls/scripts to verify/Immumizations/counsels/refunds/insurance rebills/insurance phone calls/scheduling issues/PA requests/calls to convert to 90 day because the PHARMACY gets a kick back from the insurance at end of quarter year with more 90 day conversions, huddles with team...etc.etc.etc... this is retail pharmacy BECAUSE the insurance companies make up the rules....low reimbursement rates and lowballing pricing is why these retail pharmacies are requiring US to do all of these other things. The issue is we need to EAT and take a bathroom break during a 14hrs shift because its life or death we are dealing with every day....stress levels build up....all pharmacies need to close for 30 minutes a day.. MD offices do it and no one blinks an eye.. patients wait 2 hrs at an MD office and mostly never complains....why? Because its accepted....Pharmacies need to make it an accepted practice also.. ..Reimbuslrsement rates need to change based on successful out of hospital stays or wellness checks VS an agreed upon price of a d–g...right now its "I'll pay you 2.00 dollars for a d–g that costs the store 1.75 to buy from wholesaler"...no logic in that...the reimbursement model need to change before the retail pharmacy model for us changed because get what the company you work for is about making a profit....or none of us would have a job. ...Let's figure out a solution instead of com ppl plained about CVS or WAG or any retail store...simple math if they dont make a profit they cant pay us our salary.....let's figure out how they can. ...I'm for closing for 30 minutes a day and reworking the reimbursement system.

Just like the article... the people ranting on here represent about 20 out of 200 thousand employees.

All they will do is push it down and blame store level employees....when I managed a CVS I had to go watch the pharmacy just so my Pharmacist could use the restroom, he never got a lunch and was on his feet for 12 hours a day....is that the way we want to treat people who are dispensing d–gs??about time Pharmacist stood up to these practices

I for one am grateful that CVS’ evil work practices are finally being brought to light! What this company does to pharmacy employees and front store employees is nothing short of disgusting and disgraceful!

And the response by cvs, was nothing more than typical corporate propaganda!

As a current CVS employee, the above response could not have been any clearer on how CVS employees feel about Larry Merlo.
The NY Times article was completely accurate and the response from CVS was a complete lie.In the last five years, I have not once been able to eat or take a break. I also cannot drink more than 4oz of water because there is no time to even run to the bathroom, plus you still cannot complete the workload by the end of the day.
I could write forever about all of the inaccuracies/false truths in the CVS response.......

He sleeps because he is heartless, selfish, greedy, pathetic and a complete piece of . As an employee of CVS, because it's my only option currently, I work my off and I cant even pay my Bill's! Working for CVS has actually made me lose $ because I used my savings to offset my lack of pay. I love my customers, and out patients, and so I've chosen to stay, but enough is enough. He has no care for patients and no care for his employees..for example, our raises are based on a "formula", not how hard you work, dedication, etc;..it's a simple A+B= .10!!! And sadly, the raises are that pathetic. He wants us all to run around like maniacs, doing the jobs of 10 people,...all so he can make his 2 billion a year. There is a special place in HE* waiting for his greedy a**!!!!
