I just got an invite from my Team Assistant for a company wide town hall next Thursday afternoon. Seems like a strange time to have this. Could this mean layoffs are that morning, 2/6? Hmmm.

Update, update, update!! I got a revised meeting invitation for Thursday afternoon. The TA changed the location of the meeting to the WJWCFE - William J Way Center for Excellence. Hope to see all the lucky ones there to hear our leader make some great remarks about our great company in the conference center he made and which is also his namesake. Truly blessed to be alive during these times.
This sounds real this time. Doesn’t come across as fear mongering to me. I appreciate the heads up. I’m not sure I can handle the humiliation of being laid off. I’m toying with the idea of just quitting on Wednesday so I don’t have to be told I’m laid off. I don’t have another gig lined up, but it would preserve my fragile emotional state by not having to be told I’m a failure.
Thursday schedule starting to come into focus. All signs pointing to a morning RIF event followed by an afternoon “town hall” of sorts. Remarks from our CEO and other key leaders. I’ve saw some notes left on a copier (from a key leader) with some bullet points on post RIF morale boosting content. Be prepared to be force fed some strong kool aid!

No layoffs next Thursday. You must be a newbie because the Team Assistants do not schedule a Town Hall meeting the morning of layoffs. That would be too obvious and they want the element of surprise.
