Most major insurance companies are doing RIFs, not just Anthem.
Be shocked if this happens. If anything...I see Anthem selling off business units like AIM, Caremore and maybe even GBD. Anthem is in cost cutting measures - contraction and not growth...No matter what the CEO states. The attempted take over of Cigna really screwed up Anthem.
The public private thing has been handled many times before. They typically set up charitable funds within the affected states. Most BC plans were private and non-profit at one time. Still, I have my doubts about this happening.

I dont see it happening. 1 is private and 1 is public. Not enough layoffs
