HollyFrontier management is among the worse - if not the worst - I've ever had the displeasure of working for. Incompetent, inexperienced, verbally abusive, have no interest in hearing any ideas that don't fit their narrow vision...
However, this is not that surprising considering promotions are not done based on merit but based on who you are related to and who you know in the company. Not to mention, if there is nobody who fits that description within the company they will bring somebody in from the outside rather than promote a seasoned employee who would actually know what to do.
With a system like that, terrible management is a given.
