Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Anyone work in Cary?

Anyone here part of the transfer or new hire at the Cary location? I am exploring that option and need some insight.

how has your experience been? Is that location driving the new company strategy- any insight would help.

Got it - thanks for the feedback. Yeah I think if i engage further I need to ask them allow virtual. It seems due to the State Incentives tied to the jobs they want people in Cary.

I don't know your situation, but if you don't currently work for Xerox I would look somewhere else and not waste one minute thinking about moving to Cary. As others have said, HP is notorious for moving operations and then after a while moving them again, which hurts those that made the first move.

And with almost all of the executive committee being HP rejects, you can probably count on them following the same rulebook.

Well I was looking to move as a new hire - i dont work for xerox currently. I'm not sure with all that is going on that it seems to have increased the risk.

How can a location drive a strategy?

Cary was a construct to downsize IT without paying severance. Most of those who move there will be short-term while offshoring continues, then given offers to sign-on for a third party. Again, to avoid lay-off severance.

IT doesn’t drive business strategy, Cary or anywhere.

I would suggest getting out of the company as soon as possible. The death spiral of XRX has begun, Wall Street is waking up to this, and under current leadership is not going to improve.

I'm not in Cary, just saying that up front. But I work closely with some of those that have agreed to move there from Webster.

Maybe I misread your post, but I would say that Cary will never drive the strategy, they will just implement whatever "flavor of the month" strategy or process the executive committee desires.

And I would also say that with the stock market falling off a cliff, and the rumor that banks have now pulled their agreement to finance the HP purchase, the full Cary move seems in doubt to me. But my crystal ball has been fuzzy lately.
