Sorry to read this, take a short break mental reset and look mid to long term, if young get out of oil and gas!
Get out of this sector, unless you are N-1 to the top then keep milking the cow, don’t worry focus on the EPS!
US severance is 1 week per year of service if you are NonExempt (i.e. eligible for overtime), with a 13 week cap. 2 weeks per year of service if Exempt with a 26 week cap. 3 months of your current medical. Also, if you are over 40 and have at least 10 years service, there's some additional $$$. If you started as a contractor, your contractor time doesn't count. If you're a rehire, severance is calculated from your most recent hire date. Check the US Employee Handbook, it should be detailed in one of the appendices.
Stupid question maybe but does severance of one “pay check” per year mean 1 month per year or 2weeks per year ? Depends how often you are paid I guess . Good luck
Yes what location please?
Sorry to hear that. I am in same boat but was laid off 2 months ago. I didn't even get medical. Just 1paycheck per year of service.
