Thread regarding Ford layoffs

The calm before the storm

All the negative employee comments about for leadership, the economic bubble, the corona virus that could be a weaponized variant, over prized vehicles/ housing, and election year especially this one where all knives will come out...... it’s not looking good folks sometimes gotta give!

DORF blows. We had mandatory DORF training because we did such a poor job of entering our time. We all left the trading knowing exactly what to do and that we were to enter all our hours. Two weeks later my boss is yelling and screaming at me for blowing his budget and HOW DARE I TELL ANYONE HE WAS FORCING ME TO WORK 70 HOURS A WEEK. This same scene played out with the entire team.
We had to spend a day entering fake time and sending emails to the DORF police telling them we had made a mistake in entering our time.
For sure my boss blows too.

More time is wasted on DORF than tracked on DORF. I work 45-50 hours per week. "Should I bill all my time in DORF?" 'NO! That will bite the budgets!!'

Huh? Really? Even though I don't make a dime extra? All fuzzy math and fake Blue dollars. The bureaucracy loves the Blue dollars. Fake money. But an LL4 shows enough fake Blue dollars and bam! Huge bonus.

Gotcha - great explanation - I can now understand the frustration. I have a relative who works in PR (not Ford) and they have to use a similar system to show client billing hours.

We had eWHYMS (or something like that) when I left in '18. It's funny that you mention the IMINE1 c-ap - I probably went 20 years without using it - paychecks still came.

Good luck to everyone working from home - I hope it works out ok. What about the factory workers???

Strange times....

DORF is an application where you must enter your time. You must “bill” your time to series of different codes. It is often the most creative part of the day. It is a joke of a system which the leadership teams use for budgeting. It is such a mess that people just make stuff up when they enter their time. Then the leadership doesn’t like the numbers and sends emergency emails for everyone to change what they entered. They created an entire team in India just to monitor DORF entries and email people weekly about their DORF entries. One of my coworkers didn’t enter DORF for two years before anyone noticed.

One of the “eliminate bureaucracy “ initiatives was to eliminate stupid time wasting tasks like DORF and IMINE1 (yet another time tracker). There was a big celebration when they were k–led - IT leaders told us they were listening and we were changing our culture, cutting red-tape - then just like Lazarus the time wasters rose again, and we are back to wasting time with DORF and IMINE1.

IDK- maybe there are more IT posters because they are in general more comfortable in the internet space? And maybe because they are typing away on their laptop all day with access to the internet-so it is convenient to pop over to this website?

I understood every word of the "IT" post, the language is english, and @3eme speaks the truth. Dorf and Rally are the biggest farce I've seen in 30 years with the company. Its more important to falsely book time and create meaningless Rally stories than actually produce something tangible.

Did anyone understand the IT note below? What language was that?

Is there a reason that most posts come from IT folks? Not hating, just wondering?

When IT senior "Leadership" crows continually about how much better it will be but can't even get DORF straight, we are done for. Seriously, a BS Ford time tracking system is a top priority??? And it is still as goofy as day 1, they have exposed themselves as the pack of clueless mo–ns they are. It is March, we just got new DORF codes to use. Immediate fire drill from the DORF stalkers that you "did it wrong" and must drop everything and move all the phony time to the "correct" code or the company will go under. During the exact same fiasco last year, I simply stopped doing DORF for months. Yes, months. Nobody knew or cared. No DORF stalkers. No making up time. No fire drills. I just went about delivering. My boss was happy. My teams were happy. When my boss asked me why the DORF stalkers stopped bothering him about my DORF, but continued to bark about other team members, I told him what I wasn't doing. He just laughed and said I wish I had thought of doing that. And that was the end of it.

Moved to a new group. My "top" priority now is making sure I get user stories in Rally because that is far more important than actually delivering anything. Well and making sure DORF gets in every week. Oy.

Of course JF said no head count changes. He doesn't want people heading for the door. Of course, we've had several people leave our team on the last 6 months without a single backfill. So no head count changes is pure garbage.

I saw it as well. JF said no head count changes. Seemed like a nice guy. Spoke rather well.
