Layoffs will happen tomorrow 3/11. Optum across many product lines and support services.

Were the layoffs all in Cypress? Or across the country? Any idea how many were impacted?

OptumRX layoffs happened today 3/11. Whole teams are gone or some teams cut in half like appeals, research, issue resolution.
@OP+13UD0k0C - The COVID-19 stuff has been the focus of UHC for the last couple of weeks. The org is literally scrambling to figure out what they're going to do about this. It's been days of war room type meetings to decide what they're going to do. Notice how every other health insurer and health care system has announced what they're doing for COVID-19 last week but UHC didn't? Yeah, they really have no clue what they're doing and how they're going to handle things. They're pretty much copying what others have said and done.
I think the layoffs scheduled for last week were postponed because of COVID-19 but they will continue to happen. Consider this as some extra time to get your financial stuff in order, update your resume and apply for jobs outside of UHC.
This is absolutely ridiculous.... please quit trying to make people paranoid, scared and unsure of their jobs. It’s bad enough that everyone has these crazy virus scares, no need to keep people unsettled like this. If it happens, it happens. Keeping the constant focus on “what if” is not helping anyone prepare.
