Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Money IBM is saving from 0% travel policy...

HI - Anyone have a rough estimate for this month and Q2?

$30 Million?

Perhaps this will enable them to defer expected layoffs a bit longer?

In Services contracts, IBM is mostly too dumb/afraid to structure contracts permitting billing of clients actuals for travel, unlike our competitors. So they should be increasing profit slightly. Doubt it is enough to save the business though given how many executives IBM needs to absorb. That number doesn’t seem to ever go down.

I'd bet they will use that money to buy the stock back (not to save my job)

If you're seriously counting and hoping that a company will be held off of a layoff "for a bit longer" then that's a sign its time to get out.

Do yourself a favor and look hard for a new company. I lived in such a company for too long and have regretted it since.
