How does it feel to know the executives have received more money than they ever have in their career and everyone else is getting less.

It’s nice to see others were not fooled by the garbage provided by LR5. I think the kool aid drinkers will admit they’ve been ingesting poison.

Windstream took a business that was simple in concept but requiring detailed execution (ILEC). Then it made it hopelessly complicated (Uniti, mergers) and neglected the operational side

Flying a 747 - a simple concept but one requiring exceptional technical skill, focus and attention to detail.

windstream: overpaid lawyers and accountants flying a 747, squabbling over ownership of the engines and worried about their next meal in first class.

The real winners may turn out to be people who sold their companies to Windstream. Take Concord Telephone in NC — Windstream bought it for > $500 million. It was well run and probably worth much of that price (not including Windstream’s eager overpayment). Windstream never got the value of that because they ran it poorly afterwards. But the value was there if properly run.

Then there are all the CLECs Windstream bought to the joy of their old owners and creditors. Was that a good idea? Probably not but others here have said Windstream could have made it work by carefully and knowledgeably integrating it all; I wasn’t there so maybe they’re right.

Anyways, that’s where a lot of the missing money went. That and salaries for employees who didn’t produce. Note — that’s not on knock on those people — many were diligently, if skeptically following dumb directives and plans. An army marching willi-nilli in the wrong direction.

” It’s unfortunate the court system is letting Uniti and Windstream get away with grand larceny.”

It’s not a settled issue yet.

It’s unfortunate the court system is letting Uniti and Windstream get away with grand larceny. At this point it’s safe to say Uniti execs failed toMeet their fiduciary responsibilities and without a doubt Windstream scammed unsecured bond holders, stockholders and employees with the REIT.

The only business as usual going on at Windstream is execs getting paid to much. Are they actually touting 4 billion debt reduction after filling bankruptcy? Of course your debt decreased bc you don’t have to pay back unsecured debt holders. Everyone else lost money while the executives made more with Piiizzzz Poor performance.

Where can I find a job where I fail to meet every measurable financial metric and get a raise?

If you read and really take a deep dive into our financials you will see our run rate still has us short
on revenue every month through Q4. We are not out of the woods yet even post chapter 11. With the cash back infusion from UNIT every month we are short $7-8M/month. Guess where that gap in cash is going to get filled? Layoffs, additional cost savings, increase in revenue from new sales channels. UCass and SDWAN Are not free as TT may have you think, we still pay millions in licencing and support to Zoom, Fortinet, and others.

The easiest way to fix that gap is with layoffs. We are over weight between 800-1000 employees. I would expect that number to fall in line over the next 3 quarters for them to right the ship.

That UNITI spinoff just erased $3B in debt from WIN. TT came out on top and you all will be working for him forever......you all must love TT to dedicate your career to him.

TT was the financial engineer that built UNIT. I guess it's such a financial genius that he built it wrong and had to sue to get his point across that it was a poor decision. If he was such a great businessman we would never be in this mess in the first place.

When he took the helm we were trading at $50/share and today it's 5 cents! Wow wish I would have got behind him and invested my life savings.

How many times does TT have the lie to your face for you to wake up? Don’t forget we are in this mess because TT “after the thirteenth time I looked at it the reit it sounded like a good idea”. He is an accountant and could not make a decision that is on the right side of the law....we didn’t loose a court case we got caught BREAKING THE LAW.

Agreed. Windstream is now way better off than they were 2yrs ago. Employees dont get any raises and a majority of employees left the 401k match in windstream stock tho. They just watched their 401k accounts lose tens of thousands of dollars and still no raises but they keep working there......some people love to take abuse I guess.

TT said from the very beginning that Windstream would emerge stronger after ch 11. Restructuring the debt would clear the path for growth. Starting to think he may be right. All indications are that Uniti bent over the barrel and took one for the team.

If you mean they were right and ruined thousands of people lives and saving to make themselves rich. You are correct. Story isn't over so I would go high fiving TT and his henchmen just yet.

Yeah. Right all along. That's why we lost against Aurelius (but chanted the mantra that we would win).

From Fotune 500 to bankrupt company with no real assets.
