Thread regarding Optum layoffs

New Round Of Layoffs for March 2020

As stated on press release on Fox News, there is a new wave of layoffs set for March, corporate offices are scheduled to let go of 80% of their work from home positions, corporate positions as well. This is all in favor of using new workforce resources from India and Philippines who will essentially do the work for much less per hour.

To anyone who thought it was not true and it was all lies....you are corporate trolls or just sheep. Some day you will learn that large companies do not share this information nor do they share their major plans with the workers. I know for a FACT that it is true and know of entire departments that have been essentially eliminated in the US.

So to all you that think it was untrue....you are now learning that it was true. The next time you think of saying that others are trolls here stirring the pot....I guess we know who the true troll was.

I worked with unitedhealth for 5 years and got laid off. Was not told why but just that it was a company financial decision. If this was true the fact oversea people can do the work for less, you have to realize their society & environment is less than Where we are. And it would of been nice to let us know in advance, because last minute to a laid off notice is unprofessional and it really upset me that this show how true their company is! They care more about their profits in the making of their work flow then the employees themselves. If we employees get laid off for this reason, what is their next reason and this just makes us people to find a good company to grow with then poor management decisions.

I think we need to consider that there are a lot of trolls on this board that post fake information with the intent to stir up fear and anger. If you want credibility, post links to your sources of information. On foxnews.com I searched for "layoffs" "optum" "unitedhealth" and did not find any recent stories. I'm happy to admit I am wrong if you want to post a link to your story.

Its offshore taking...really? Are you serious? Changes are led by leadership in any business. If you dont like their methods dont buy from them. It's that simple.

As for any companies operating in economically cheaper areas of the world...that's capitalism in a country without decent employee protections.

It’s not racism that offshore is taking American jobs for an industry that only services Americans.

I really dont think Indians and Philipinos get up in the morning and have a masterplan for taking American jobs because they can do work for less money. Stop being a racist a–hole.
Optums leadership and shareholders are the problem. Not the human race...most if whom get up in the morning to live life, run a home, try to enjoy a few luxuries etc.

If you are angry, fine but dont be dumb it's not endearing.
