Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

New layoffs in April?

Is it true we might be looking at more layoffs at Cigna next month? Somebody mentioned this but I can't confirm it. I wouldn't be surprised, to be honest. With everything that's been going on lately, I think new layoffs are guaranteed - maybe even sooner than next month.

It is true the CIGNA is doing lay off to a lot of employees in Telemarketing department at Leon Medical Centers Health plans. They are terminating employment to staff that have being there for more than 10 or 20 years. They hired a CEO like months ago with the mission of destroying little by little the Miami Market. Tens of Managers and Employees have resigned and yesterday this massive closing of a department was announced. They are still lying everybody that the market will be expanded when no employee is replaced when position is terminated.

If you're looking for a job do NOT apply at United Healthcare, worst place to work! They do not care about their employees!!!

You got to love it when they say apply after being laid off - you go thru interviews and they already have someone picked but need that quota to meet in order to make it legal. Tired of their games and deceiving managers. Waste of time and energy. You would think they would weigh if the person only wants a change in roles or the qualified person needs a job - but nope not this company.

Could this be the tipping point for them to dump the widely unpopular American Specialty Health? Could this force American Specialty Health to implode? If you’re a provider participating with American Specialty Health, then you’re part of the problem in healthcare.

Is this ALL departments / subsidiaries / locations of Cigna or just certain departments affected?

Planned layoffs all thru 2020. It is awful what they are doing to employees and their families. Cigna advertises how to combat loneliness and depression yet they cause the stress on their own giving you a package when most would rather just work. We won’t see the top being layer off just more promotions.

Since raises go into affect in April,it would make sense to let people go before then.

Cigna CIO is retiring In less than 3 months. It was announced yesterday. Don’t think this was planned- believe he was asked to retire.

I expect a lot of organization changes and right-sizing happening this month and the next.
