Another layoff has been announced today among Hitachi Consulting members, mainly in the UK (40 - 50 people). No details yet unfortunately regarding the specific individuals impacted.
So basically, Vantara acquired Consulting and the first thing they do is to layoff people, not to look at current portfolio, potential business, etc...
Really nice of them to proceed with redundancies during the Covid-19 outbreak (even though the GOV in the UK has offered to back companies) and whilst interviewing and searching for a job will be difficult to impossible.
Yeah. Hitachi has done this before. This was about a year after they talked at a company meeting about how proud they are that "we make forward thinking synergistic business decisions that protect Hitachi from layoffs".
