Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Coronavirus is fueling talk of ACT style layoffs

Sentiment of some knowledgeable managers is ACT style layoffs will be unavoidable by end of June. Though things are expected to pick up a bit after June, many will not survive in their jobs that long.

With many victims died in China and in other countries, economy slow down (lay-off) and the stock market taking beat down, can the world file petition against China spreading the Covid-19?

Bob is going in with a scalpel cutting up groups here and there and positioning them to make it easier to layoff more groups/people.
Another group about to be sold off from Intel:

Intel didn’t layoff people in the worst of 2008 recession. And did layoffs when things were considerably better in 2015. So business downturn is not a good predictor of Intel layoffs 😀

We’ll know more at Q1 earnings. Depends on the numbers, I wouldn’t expect much impact yet, mostly it’s been fearmongering (business-wise).

Has this virus affected the supply chain that much? Why would they lay-off people for a short-term drop in the stock market? Is this a cover for some lay-offs they wanted to do anyway?
