That Zayo spin off never happened. They withdrew the plan and ended up getting bought out by a private equity firm, which is just about to close.

Spin off to shareholders, sell off to private equity, or keep scooping the profits until the business dries up are the three main options for CTL.

No need to sell, see: BOULDER, Colo. – November 7, 2018 – Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) today announced it plans to separate into two publicly traded companies: one to focus on providing core communications infrastructure and another to leverage infrastructure to provide solutions for a broad set of enterprise customers.

Let's think about this for a minute. A company is in business to make money. When they buy another company it's to increase their profits. Let's see what we have to offer here.

Residential lost 54 million last year.
Outside plant is dilapidated from years of neglect. The workforce is all looking for another job. Morale is at an all time low. The few customers that are left because they have no options hate us. It would cost hundreds of millions to fix the plant and replace aging equipment, aka the 30+ year old DMS CO switches and all the other crippled Dslams etc.

Yessir, that is the company everyone would want to buy.

I don't think they could find any buyers unless they give it away for free and even then there might not be any takers.

All I have is my opinion "no inside information" but i believe they would sell it in a heartbeat if they could find a interested buyer.
