How is it the world and Optum is in turmoil, yet all of the “highlighted” managers at this meeting have a perfect template (literally) that shows a perfect life? No one cares about your life narcissists... what’s going on with our jobs??? Awful company.. stepford wives. I hate this company

Corporations are evil
The propaganda town hall had one leader clown with theme music blasting before he took the stage. Read the script, appeared CONfident, and then another leader clown came on and did some more script reading and everything gumdrops and rainbows. What a US corprate dump
Know what grosses me out, along with the propaganda Town Halls? The creepy electronic signage near the entry of Optum HQ showing lovely photos of sandy baby toes, close-ups of dewy flowers, sunsets, and earth-from-space, with barf-worthy, chest-beating, self-congratulatory lines like "We are the how." We are not the "how." We are the "why" the executives make ungodly amounts of money. I feel sick to my stomach working for this organization, but I need the paycheck and being in my 60s, a new job is very hard to come by. Also, has anyone noticed how many people are ignoring the "business casual" dress code and wearing jeans and sneakers? A silent nose-thumbing at leadership, perhaps?
What department was this Town Hall for?
Idk what department did this, but I’m disgusted. How dare they?? The town halls are the only venues where I hear about the company making a difference. In the news, I read about how this poor person or that one was screwed over by this company - In terms of the “care” and benefits they received. These are sick people trying to get well! Why are we restricting treatments ???
Playoffs will be happening next week probably on the fourth or the fifth
It is pretty disgusting and especially during times of layoffs and when another round is coming soon. They only care about enriching themselves and view the workers as just expendable tools. They will gloss over anything that is a real concern. Town halls are a joke.
Create new opportunities for yourself. Load linkedin, indeed, etc. on your phone. Smile, do your work, and spend every minute of every townhall, staff, and webex meeting applying for jobs.
An exec was giving her kids 10Mill each another buying their 3rd luxe car. Think about as we trudge to work each day in traffic to get a 1-3% COLA–cost of living adjustment–it's NOT a raise. Stop being brainwashed and thk your getting a "raise" 1.5%? What a joke, doesn't even keep up with inflation, you got a pay decrease. They got another vacay house. Think about that after hearing scripted propaganda townhalls and robotic voices stating happy talk. It is so insulting to anyone with an IQ>60. It 's all scripted, of cost staffing was at the end...that way they're pressed for time and have to go....think about we screamed the aims, wore that stupid wig, and danced at the company events. Think about that–we were just amusement for millionaires and billionaires.
I truly love hearing about the lives of senior leadership and how sad it is that they had to cancel their 2nd ski vacation or their trip to hawaii ...barf.
I was laid off two weeks ago, but "getting to know" senior leadership by hearing about their vacations, expensive hobbies and kids at private universities was a personal favorite of mine. Clearly, they are making a lot of money. Meanwhile, I hadn't gotten a raise better than 1.5% in 10 years.
Notice at the end when they barely addressed the future of "staffing".
