Layoffs are happening tomorrow or Thursday.
I am super confused on how outsourcing works due to I have reviewers on my team that cant review cases in my state bc they don’t physically reside there...yet someone in the Philippines can!? How is that legal with these state and federal mandates!? Serious question
That bot is a nightmare and cannot provide critical thinking. It mistasks..over tasks and is flat out wrong in SO many instances. I see nothing but bad outcomes in the future with it. Some things can be automated..but others are even difficult for us nurses and medical directors. They will reap what they sew. Just a shame really
Does UHC give severance to laid off employees?
The macros aren't doing the job for them. But what macros are doing is allowing them to do more with less. They have a direct impact on job security. The goal is to have a small onshore group to gather information and a larger offshore group inputting the information into macros so they can do what they do.
Management deep up in this thread trying to keep the cattle quite.
It’s not a macro it’s called a bot. It’s the new AI they have been talking about. The bot is a script that runs on clinical cases to route them where they need to go and they are making decisions on cases I have seen them on Ccr cases. It’s the future. When grandma needs a new hip a bot is gonna approve it.
A macro is an automatic template of sorts. There are several that are used by the Inpatient Care Managers to request clinical, to document a final discharge plan, denial, etc. There are several that are used. But it still takes the RN that is doing the documentation to make the decisions regarding the info that is put into the macro. So, for the other person to say that Macros are doing the job, just isn’t true. Just another scare tactic on this forum. These Macros have been used for a long time. They aren’t new.
What is macros?
Jobs aren’t being done by Macros. The Macros are utilized as a tool in documentation for efficiency and accuracy.
Some jobs are being done now by macros. Macros.
This is ridiculous and “fake news”. They won’t be laying off all ICMs. This site is becoming like the boy who cried wolf. Ya wanna know when we should really worry?...is if any of the democrats win the presidential election. If that happens, we can kiss all the jobs goodbye.
They can't lay off all the ICM at once, right? So who goes? The most senior? The highest paid? The least productive? The people who abuse time? The least popular? I joined UHG for growth and stability...cough wheeze What's the DX code for hoodwinked?
I may be totally oblivious, but I do not see how they could possibly terminate/lay off all ICM’s.
Inpatient case or care manager. They managed the clinical case for members in a hospital or other inpatient facility.
I’m sorry to sound ignorant but what is ICM?
They are migrating ICM jobs to the Philippines. Look for a job NOW or you will be aorry
All nursing staff will be laid off ... alll ICM’s
The answer is yes
This site has been accurate for the vast majority of lay-off dates. In all likelihood, yes there will be lay-offs in March.
